AMAP Overview
ACS has developed a robust process for design and development of Business Solutions called AMAP. The process encompasses all activities required to plan, design, develop, deploy, operate and manage a solution. Additionally, a unique feature of the process is that it is horizontal and is not specific to any type of solution, technology or vertical. AMAP is a generic framework and can be implemented easily across diverse projects with minimum effort.

AMAP Components:
For the effective management of a project, the complete process has been divided into six major activity areas: -
Project Management – this phase usually involves preparing plans for Project Management (SPMP), Software Configuration Management (SCMP) and Software Quality Assurance (SQAP). |
Project Life Cycle – This phase typically comprises of five phases that include - Requirement Study, Design, Construction, Testing and Management. |
Configuration Management – this phase ensures the identification of CIs, their baselining, version control & their proper release and also Control Changes to them throughout the life cycle of the Project. |
Change Control – This is a crucial aspect and ensures that changes are organized and contained in a simple and effective manner. |
Software Engineering – This phase is primarily to incorporate all learning points back into the process and ensure optimum output. |
Quality Assurance – This phase mostly includes the function of auditing the project, at the end of each phase of the Project Life Cycle, for process compliance. |
AMAP advantages:
Provides a simple and flexible framework that allows easy incorporation of new processes and learning points, as necessity demands. |
Provides complete transparency into the entire software development cycle with extensive documentation for every phase. |
Also includes online tools for further easing adherence to, and supplementing process related requirements. |
Lastly, ensures that quality is built into the solution from the start of development, right up to maintenance of the solution. |
